Birkdale Roof Restoration

The team had the pleasure of restoring this beautiful tiled roof in Birkdale, Brisbane.

The Roof Restoration Prep Work

The roof restoration involved installing guard rail where required on the second story section to comply with OH&S regulations. Gutters and valley were then cleaned out removing any leaves and debris that had collected over time.

Following, the windows and walls on the second level were then covered with masking to prevent overspray. All broken tiles were then changed prior to cleaning.

The Roof Cleaning

Prior to cleaning water redirection was set up to prevent anything from reaching the waterways. The roof was then high pressured cleaned by the team using a water blaster and a whirlaway. The team then rinsed the exterior walls of the home down to remove any dirty overspray from the cleaning process.

The Repointing and Rebedding

The ridge capping was then repointed and rebedded where required using Nutech’s Maxi Point flexible pointing. Weep holes were then drilled into the ridges to prevent future leaking.

The Roof Painting

After dust washing the roof to ensure a clean surface after rebedding, the team set up for the roof painting. One coat of primer was applied and left to dry. Two coats of Nutech’s Tileflex roof membrane were the applied the colour Charcoal. Hand painting was carried out on the barges to ensure a neat finish.

The Finishing Touches

Six spare tiles were left for our customers along with some touch-up paint, should they ever need it in the future. The team thoroughly cleaned the area, ensuring it was left as when they arrived.
